PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Meeting, on Wednesday, elected PTI candidate Mushtaq Ghani as the brand new Speaker of the Home.
Mushtaq Ghani garnered 81 votes and beat his opponent Laiq Muhammad Khan of Awami Nationwide Social gathering (ANP), who managed to obtain 27 votes.
Mushtaq Ghani later took oath of his workplace and chaired the meeting session.
For the submit of deputy speaker of KP Meeting, Mehmood Jan from PTI has been elected after attaining 78 votes. Whereas his opponent Jamshed Mohamand obtained 30 votes.
Earlier at present, the voting course of commenced for the highest slots within the meeting. PTI’s candidate Mushtaq Ghani and Laiq Muhammad Khan, the nominee of opposition alliance, have been vying for the seat of Speaker. Whereas Jamshed Mohmand, candidate of opposition events, was competing in opposition to Mehmood Jan of PTI for the place of deputy speaker.
On Monday, newly elected members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Meeting took oath in the course of the inaugural session of the provincial legislature.
Appearing KP Meeting Speaker Sardar Aurangzeb Nalota administered the oath to the MPAs.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) tally within the provincial meeting has reached 82 after clinching 16 reserved seats for ladies and minorities.
Final week, the ECP notified the allotment of the reserved seats for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Meeting.
The Muttahida Majli-e-Amal (MMA) and Awami Nationwide Social gathering (ANP) gained two reserved seats every whereas the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Folks’s Social gathering (PPP) grabbed one seat every.
The PTI, which gained a second time period within the July 25 elections, nominated Mehmood Khan, an MPA from PK-9 Swat-VIII, as its candidate for the slot of the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
